The Great Gatsby follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings.
Glitz and glamour is on offer this week in the shape of Baz Luhrmann’s (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!) show-stopping 3D spectacle, THE GREAT GATSBY. Luhrmann brings his distinctive visual style to this adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel set in the roaring '20s of New York City, at the height of jazz and excess. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan.
Also newly released, we have a juicy slice of rock history for you. BEWARE OF MR. BAKER is the new documentary about the infamous English drummer, Ginger Baker. And from the creators of Ice Age and Rio, EPIC is the new adventure comedy that reveals a fantastical world unlike any other.
And returning for another week we have JJ Abrams' spectacular sequel, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.
