Directed by Stéphanie Di Giusto and inspired by the life of Clémentine Delait, set in 1870s France, it tells the story of a young woman called Rosalie (Nadia Tereszkiewicz) who is unlike any other. Rosalie was born with her face and body covered in hair. Being a bearded lady she doesn’t want to become a freak-show, and spends her days shaving to conceal her peculiarity, in order to stay safe and to fit in. However, when indebted bar owner Abel (Benoît Magimel) wants to marry her for her dowry; he is unaware of her secret. Wishing to be seen as the woman she truly is, Rosalie is worried if Able will be able to love her once he finds out the truth.
