Based on true events, The Alto Knights is a biographical crime drama film from director Barry Levinson. Starring Robert De Niro as Vito Genovese & Frank Costello, and Debra Messing, Cosmo Jarvis, Kathrine Narducci, & Michael Rispoli. Set in the 1950’s, it follows the story of two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Vito Genovese and Frank Costello (Robert De Niro in a dual role). In an attempt to gain control of a major crime family, these once best friends, take separate paths to win power. However, when they end up on a road of petty jealousies and betrayals, Genovese orders a hit on Costello and reshapes the Mafia (and America) forever.
