What you need to know...

The circle of trust is about to get crowded.

Sixteen years after Little Fockers, John Hamburg writes and directs the fourth chapter of the Meet the Parents series. He co-wrote the original, so he knows exactly where the family’s buttons are. Focker-in-Law arrives at Everyman on 25 November 2026, just as the season of awkward family gatherings gets going.

This time, Greg is the one guarding the front door. His son Henry (Skyler Gisondo) is bringing his girlfriend home, and Olivia Jones (Ariana Grande) is a former FBI hostage negotiator. Her plan is to use those skills to free Henry from his rather too close bond with his dad. The whole family falls for her instantly, even after retired CIA man Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) puts her through his trademark lie detector test. Everyone, that is, except Greg (Ben Stiller). He’s convinced she’s trained to manipulate people and is about to steal his boy away.

The whole family is back around the table. Teri Polo returns as Pam, Blythe Danner as Dina, and Beanie Feldstein joins as Greg and Pam’s daughter Samantha. Owen Wilson is back too as Kevin, Pam’s impossibly serene ex-fiancé and Greg’s eternal irritant. De Niro and Stiller also produce, alongside Jay Roach, who directed the first two films. Theodore Shapiro composes the score, and the shoot took place in and around New York.

Expect squirming standoffs, a father-in-law feud passed down a generation, and the warm, chaotic family comedy that made the original such a rewatchable favourite.

Did you know?

Gisondo and Feldstein take over roles that Colin Baiocchi and Daisy Tahan played as children in Little Fockers (2010). Gisondo came to the part fresh from playing Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn’s Superman (2025).
