In late 1960s London, two struggling actors – the flamboyantly self-destructive Withnail (Richard E. Grant) and his introspective companion Marwood (Paul McGann) – escape the squalor of their Camden flat for a disastrous holiday in the Lake District, courtesy of Withnail’s eccentric Uncle Monty (Richard Griffiths). Hoping for rest and inspiration, they instead face rain, hunger and existential malaise in the countryside, woefully unprepared for rural life. Screening on Sundays and Tuesdays as part of our Throwback Season where we revisit classics. Each ticket to these showtimes includes complimentary popcorn and a drink.
