Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) is a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. After leaving the business, battle-scarred stuntman Colt (Gosling) springs back into action and finds himself working on a film directed by his ex-girlfriend, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), starring Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a famous actor for whom he had doubled long ago. When Tom (Taylor-Johnson) suddenly disappears and the film is in danger of being shut down, Colt volunteers to find Tom and save Jody's (Blunt) debut film. As the mystery surrounding the missing actor deepens, Colt soon finds himself ensnared in a sinister plot that is far more dangerous than any stunt. This working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?
