Step into Benoit Blanc’s darkest mystery yet at Everyman

In Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the inimitable detective (Daniel Craig) returns to unravel a chilling and impossible crime. 

Blanc is summoned to a small church in upstate New York, where the death of a respected monsignor sparks suspicion, fear, and a twisted puzzle. He’s joined by a devout young priest, Father Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor), whose faith and convictions are tested as the case unravels.

On the suspect list? A formidable and glamorous ensemble: Glenn Close plays the enigmatic Martha Delacroix, Josh Brolin is Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, Mila Kunis plays Geraldine Scott, Jeremy Renner is Dr. Nat Sharp, Kerry Washington is lawyer Vera Draven, Andrew Scott plays author Lee Ross, Cailee Spaeny is cellist Simone Vivane, Daryl McCormack is Cy Draven, and Thomas Haden Church plays the groundskeeper Samson Holt. 

Writer-director Rian Johnson is back at the helm, bringing a darker tone to his third Benoit Blanc mystery. This time, the stakes feel more personal - and the secrets run even deeper.

Shot with a stirring score by Nathan Johnson and filmed with Rian Johnson’s trademark touch, the film walks the line between gothic suspense and the classic ‘whodunit’ of the Knives Out series, blending clever humour with spiritual unease.

Did you know?

The title ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ is a nod to the U2 song of the same name -  continuing the tradition of Johnson’s Knives Out films referencing pop music.
